美國時間 11 月 8 日 Blizzard 旗下遊戲年度嘉年華會 BlizzCon 即將登場，在此次活動的時間表中出現了「《魔獸世界》:後續發展」等論壇，外界盛傳 Blizzard 即將公開《魔獸世界》新資料片，而此時傳出 Blizzard 註冊了《德拉諾霸主》的名稱，且 10 月初與《德拉諾霸主》相關的域名「warlordsofdraenor.com」也被註冊，但註冊者是透過提供域名註冊的美國公司 Go Daddy，讓外界覺得並不尋常。
至於外國論壇上也出現未經官方證實的《德拉諾霸主》設定，描述玩家將回到三十年前的德拉諾來阻止當年葛羅瑪許·地獄吼。
至於《魔獸世界》是否真的會如外傳公布名為《德拉諾霸主》的新資料片，將帶來什麼樣的新內容，等到屆時 BlizzCon 時或許就可揭曉了。
