故事描述以稱霸國中聯賽為目標的澤村榮純，在最後一次的聯賽中，因為自己的暴投而輸了比賽。他發誓要和以前的隊友去高中一雪前恥，後來，因為棒球名校青道高中球探來訪，澤村去參觀了青道高中的練習。在見習中，馬上就遭受到棒球高中名校的洗禮，不過也因此讓他遇到才華洋溢的捕手──御幸，重新燃起了澤村對棒球的熱情。
