負責製作《魔獸世界》改編電影的傳奇影業今（28）日對外釋出消息，宣布這部電影的上映日期將由原本的 2015 年 12 月 18 日改為 2016 年 3 月 11 日。
根據了解，傳奇影業在今年七月剛結束與華納的合作，轉而與環球影業配合，而因為這個緣故，導致了《魔獸世界》改編電影與環球原訂在 2015 年上映的星際大戰題材電影《Star Wars》強碰檔期，而這也是這部電影的上映日期之所以延遲至 2016 年的主要原因。
《魔獸世界》改編電影預定於明年 1 月 13 日在加拿大溫哥華正式開拍，電影劇本由查爾斯李維特擔任編劇，先前執導過《啟動原始碼（Source Code）》、《2009 月球漫遊（Moon）》的鄧肯瓊斯將擔任電影導演。
《魔獸世界》改編電影預定 2016 年上映。
